Energy China Forum 2017: 7th Asia-Pacific Shale Gas Summit


Energy China Forum (ECF) 2017: 7th Asia-Pacific Shale Gas Summit was held 11-13 October 2017, at Jianguo Hotel, Shanghai, People’s Republic of China. ECF is the largest leading forum for public-private dialogue on energy development, serving leaders and professionals especially for shale gas industries. Seven ECF summits had been successfully held since 2011. The aim of the 7th ECF Summit was to gather professionals and experts from all around the world to explore policy trends, discuss latest shale development, classify and study industry chain, access to business partnering and project matchmaking, to learn both market 101 and advanced business strategy in China Oil & Gas industries and having a face to face communication with Chinese partners as well as global investors. ECF 2017 was organized by the Shanghai United Institute for Unconventional Resources (SUI) and the Shanghai Energy Economy Committee of Shanghai Economist Association, with support from the China Petroleum Enterprises Association (CPEA) and the Coordinating Committee for Geoscience Programmes in East and Southeast Asia (CCOP).

The event had attracted a total of about 106 participants (24 speakers, 74 delegates and 8 from the media) representing governmental and international organizations, universities, research institutes and companies for discussion, exchange of information and networking. Two delegates from Thailand, representing the Department of Mineral Fuels, Ministry of Energy and PTT Exploration and Production Public Company were present. A total of 24 presentations were delivered in the 2½ days symposium. A presentation titled “Development of Unconventional Resources in East and Southeast Asia - Overview and Updates” was presented by the Regional Expert, Dr Kamaludin Hassan. CCOPTS was also invited to officiate the “ECF2017 Oil & Gas Tech Innovation Award” on the evening of 12th Oct 2017, where 5 nominations for Environment & Energy Conservation, Stimulation & EOR Technology, Cost Reduction & Efficiency Technology, Exploration & Production Technology and Intelligent & Information Technology were awarded. The award aims to recognize and acknowledge outstanding innovative product and leading technology that have excellent contribution and effort to oil and gas industry.
