CCS-M T1: Training Course on CO2 Geological Storage Site Selection and Characterization
Apr. 30, 2013

About the T1

Immediately after the CCS-M Launching Seminar (S1), the 4-day Training Course (T1): Geological Storage Selection and Characterization was conducted in the same venue in Bali, Indonesia on 30 April – 4 May 2013.  Prof. John Kaldi and Dr. Peter Neal of CO2CRC (Australia) lead the lectures and exercises covering the broad spectrum of CCS and the carbon value chain.   Also present in during the course were the CCS experts from Norway and GCCSI who stayed on after S1 and helped in the discussions.

The Course discussed the criteria for assessing sedimentary basins for CO2 Storage.  Future training courses and workshops under CCS-M will re-visit these sets of criteria for further discussion and for the member countries to agree on the criteria for the CCOP geological storage selection guidelines
