  Official Announcement
The Department of Energy, Philippines is pleased to announce the opening of the First Philippine Petroleum Public Contracting Round (PCR-1) on 5 August 2003 at the Peninsula Manila, Makati City, Philippines.
The 46 contract areas to be offered cover shallow to ultra deep water areas close to oil discoveries and producing fields in the Northwest Palawan and vast frontier areas in Southwest and East Palawan, Sulu Sea and Reed Bank (see map for regional location).  Companies have seven months, starting August 2003, to evaluate the petroleum potential of the blocks using selected data displayed in a physical data room at the office of the Department of Energy in Manila. A virtual data room will also be available for six months starting September 1, 2003.  Interested companies may purchase data directly from the DOE, however, data from multiclient surveys are available from the seismic contractor concerned (see Data Packages).
Companies have until 1700 hrs Philippine time on the 2nd of March 2004 to submit their applications.

Details of the round could also be found at this site: http://www.doe.gov.ph/pcr/
